Bear Grylls - Bear Essentials App Reviews

This app has some real neat features for any aspiring adventurer/outdoors man. Great advice and techniques along with neat tools such as a compass and analog watch. As a survival instructor I really like this app, and will recommend it to students as a memory aid and tool for keeping up skills... Before they are needed of course.

This app is totally nonfunctional on 3G phone. Buy it only if you want to waste your money like me. This is all videos and links to web pages...I guess I should have not been surprised it was a scam.

At first i thought this was a terrible app but then i relized that u have to slide ur finger across the screen when ur on a chapter and it reveils alot of usful info in alot of slides.

Useful, especially the part about the knots

Compass freezes then refuses to allow access to any other features of the app Glad it wasnt a life or death situation!

No video but notes say that will be fixed soon. Great information, just learned how to properly sharpen a knife, I have been doing it wrong for years. Look forward to improvements but very happy with app so far.

The ultimate mans man, Bear Grylls himself endorsed this app and all the info is presented by him personally. Theres nothing to be desired, app has everything youd ask. Just needs alittle "polish" for the interface.

If this is all you have as far as survival info on hand with juice left on your iphone battery, it may help you out. But there are better, more comprehensive apps out there. Preparation is key when it comes to survival, and you could be better prepared with some of the other available apps.

Once this is also fully iPad compatible, 5 stars!

I looked at all the bad reviews and honestly I think these people dont know how to swipe the screen to the side after the video........try that out and then come back and say youre sorry for being a crybag and a noob......lol......this app is awesome and has alot of good information....thanks Bear

I love Bear Grylls and this app has a lot of helpful information and utilities. The only reason I rate this with 4/5 stars is because it feels unfinished and could use a lot more games! Still I recommend this app for any adventurer or fans of Bear of Grylls.

I own BG craighopper clothing...Im a fan. I want a bailey knife... So its hard for me to not give 5 stars but its all stuff most fans or general outdoorsman know. If your looking for info that Bear doesnt share on t.v. Do not purchase this app. Most of it is a review of the same stuff thats on tv...cheers!! PS I didnt realize you can scroll after the video into a book.

Bought it for possible wilderness tools but unless it was a free or 99cent app I probably could not recommend it.

Bit of a letdown. Some short videos with little supporting content. Yeah, it is Bear, but not worth the $6.99. Youre better off watching the show and reading some web articles.

Luv this app they have really worked hard on creating the most practical easy to use survival guide with everything from how to build a fire, setting up camp, dressing a wound and even workout programs for staying fit "bear style" extremely useful and a must buy app for all outdoor enthusiast!

This is a good app however I think the user interface could have been better(the navigation I found a little confusing). I also would like to see more illustrations and demonstrations (especially for fire, traps and shelter). Somethings to think about in an update. Overall I am enjoying the app. Be careful out there Bear.

I absolutely love it! I have already put all the knots to use and might have even invented my own. It might be $7 but it was definitely worth it.

This app froze up on me in the intro video. Thanks for wasting my money

Has all the basics to survive with much, much more.. A little pricey, but it could save your life!

Prepare like Bear. Buy this App. Its incredibly useful. Possibly the most useful App on your phone if you ever go hiking, biking, climbing, etc
